One of the most important rights citizens have is to petition their government. This is one of the most important tools available to inform the elected officials that are supposed to perform the work in the interested of the citizens. The only way for them to know what is expected is to notify them and a petition has been used through out the years to make sure that there is no doubt of the position of people in an area.
